Gourmet Smokey Beef and Beetroot Sandwich

This is a steak sandwich with a difference! It's slightly sophisticated in appearance and ingredient selection, but damn-right delicious with the smokey beef marinade, soft goat cheese and garlic infused spinach and Golden Circle beetroot. The flavours match so perfectly, you'll never want to put it down! Take a break and have a steak!

Ingredients

Ingredients

Marinade:
¼ cup LEE & PERRINS Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp HEINZ Big Red Tomato sauce
2 tsp Spanish smoked paprika
2 tbsp brown sugar
Freshly ground pepper & salt, to taste

8 x 60g minute steaks, trimmed and flattened lightly
2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
450g can GOLDEN CIRCLE Diced Beetroot, drained
150g baby spinach
4 individual Turkish bread, cut in half through the centre & lightly toasted
8 slices vine-ripened tomato
100g goat's cheese

Method

  1. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl then add steaks and toss well to coat in sauce.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frypan and add garlic. Cook briefly to lightly colour, then add GOLDEN CIRCLE beetroot and baby spinach. Cook until spinach is wilted.
  3. Brush steaks with remaining oil and cook on a hot grill for 1 minute each side.
  4. To serve: place 2 steaks on each Turkish bread base. Top with a slice of tomato, beetroot and spinach mixture and small spoonful of goats cheese. Replace Turkish bread lid and serve hot.
