Sweet and Sticky Meatballs

These meatballs are sugar and spice and everything nice!

Ingredients

Ingredients

1 pack of pre-rolled meatballs (20-24)
1 cup Golden Circle Apple Juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

6 green onions, chopped

Red pepper

Sesame seeds

Olive oil

Rice (to serve)

 

Method

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat
  2. Cook meatballs in batches until brown, crispy and no longer pink in the centre
  3. Transfer meatballs onto dish, cover to keep warm
  4. Drain oil from skillet and once cooled, wipe out clean
  5. For the apple glaze, combine Golden Circle Apple Juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger and cayenne pepper in the skillet
  6. Stir until glaze is thick, dark and bubbly 
  7. Return meatballs to skillet to heat through and coat with glaze
  8. Transfer glazed meatballs to a serving dish. Top with green onions, red pepper and sesame seeds
  9. Serve with rice
